Marc Aaron James McMaster was sentenced Tuesday to six months in jail for possession for the purpose of trafficking in relation to an April 2013 drug bust on a 2800-block Clapperton Street home.

McMaster, 31, was one of three men arrested in a takedown that, according to RCMP, began when police found about 280 grams of cocaine and a set of brass knuckles on him after he was pulled over just after leaving the home.

McMaster also received a concurrent three-month term for possession of a prohibited weapon as a result of the brass knuckles. The sentences were handed out in Prince George provincial court.

Police arrested two more people, Ranjit Singh Sandhu, 41, and Lurdres De Medeiros Cabral, 40, after they were also seen leaving the home.

A search of the two uncovered not only a small amount of marijuana but detailed documentation of their trafficking operation and police secured a search warrant for the home, RCMP said at the time of their arrests.

That, in turn, allowed police to uncover more than a kilogram of cocaine, amounting to 10,000 single doses, along with a substantial amount of cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

An elderly couple was not charged, and three children were located at the residence and the Ministry of Children and Family Development was contacted.

Sandhu and Cabral face disposition hearings in June.
