A September drug bust and weapons seizure in the VLA has led to jail time for a Prince George man who is also facing sexual assault charges from an alleged incident in a Dartmouth, Nova Scotia hotel room two-and-a-half years ago.

Garry Christopher Thomas Peak, 35, was sentenced to 21 intermittent days in jail in Prince George Provincial Court on Wednesday for three counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of an undertaking or recognizance.

Peak and three others were arrested Sept. 1 during a police raid of a home in the 2200 block of Norwood Street just before 8 p.m.

Police said at the time a "significant amount" of methamphetamine, heroin, morphine and pills believed to be ecstacy, as well as drug-trafficking paraphernalia, including scales and packaging material, were seized.

Also recovered, according to police, were a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun with a pistol grip hidden in a compartment in the residence, and a laptop computer stolen earlier in the day at a break-and-enter on the 1600 block of Edmonton Street.

Dean Reginald Anderson, 34, faces charges of careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking from the incident.

Five days after the arrests Robert Junior Badger, 40, was sentenced to 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

April May Shaw, 42, faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance from the incident.

On May 4, Peak and James Christopher Hanson, 30, formerly of Prince George now residing in Surrey, will learn if they will be found guilty of charges related to an alleged Sept. 27, 2009 incident in a Dartmouth, Nova Scotia hotel room from which they are accused of confining and sexually assaulting a woman.

Peak and Hanson were staying at the hotel while competing in a mixed martial arts tournament in Halifax.
