A 41-year-old man found with an assortment of suspicious items last month was sentenced Wednesday to 60 days in jail and one year probation.
Quinnton Vern Campbell was issued the terms in Prince George provincial court on one count each of possessing a break-in instrument and possessing weapon for dangerous purpose.
Campbell was arrested Oct. 28 after police responded to an early-morning call of two men hiding in the bushes behind a Cuddie Crescent home.
Campbell was found nearby and when he ignored RCMP commands, he was stopped and detained.
A pat down search yielded what first appeared to be a handgun but was then determined to be a BB gun. Police said a further search uncovered a steel hammer, a ski mask, a balaclava, a wig and a sharpened screwdriver.
Campbell, who had remained in custody since his arrest, was also assessed $200 in victim surcharges.
