A Prince George man faces 10 charges following an alleged confrontation with police and firefighters near 100 Mile House on Friday over an illegal campfire.

Brandt Kenneth Miller, 23, faces two counts of assault and one count each of theft over $5,000, assault of a peace officer, assault with a weapon, willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer, possessing weapon for dangerous purpose, uttering threats, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and breach of probation.

Miller allegedly became abusive when members of the Deka Lake Fire Dept. told him a ban against campfires was in effect and then tried to steal their fire truck. When members of the 100 Mile House RCMP were called in, police said Miller then grabbed a chainsaw, started it up and then used it in a threatening manner before he was pepper sprayed and arrested.

Miller remained in custody as of Tuesday.
