Donovan Roberts, an 18-year-old Prince George resident, was caught driving a stolen Jeep Liberty near 20th Avenue and Upland Street Wednesday at about 5 p.m. by a local RCMP member on patrol of the area.

The Jeep had been reported stolen earlier that day from a hotel parking lot on Recplace Drive.

The officer followed the vehicle until it was parked on the 2100 block of Upland St.

When the suspect exited the vehicle he provided a false name to the officer, who arrested him.

Roberts is now been charged with offences including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, obstructing a peace officer, failing to comply with probation and personation with intent.

Roberts made his first appearance in provincial court Thursday.
