A man was burned during a fire on Freimuller Avenue that was reported to Prince George Fire Rescue at about 2:15 this morning.

Crews found the man at the back of the house, while another occupant of an upstairs suite was outside in front of the house and said he heard the smoke alarm go off and called 9-1-1.

The injured man was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Three halls and 16 firefighters responded to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the main floor of the house.

The crews quickly extinguished the flames, however there is substantial damage to the interior of the house.
