What started as a phone call of a potentially stolen vehicle led to a search warrant and the recovery of several items in the southwest corner of city.

RCMP arrested a 57-year-old Prince George man on Friday (Aug. 16) after police found stolen items on a property off Highway 16 near Sykes Road at an estimated value of $50,000.

Mounties received a call from a concerned citizen who believes he saw a stolen vehicle and once officers found it at a residence off the highway, they deemed it stolen and took the suspect into custody, where he is currently being held.

Police found several stolen items inside the vehicle, executed a search warrant for the property, and found other additional items, including:

  • Tools
  • Vehicle tires, rims, and other parts
  • Pet supplies
  • Lawnmowers
  • Generator

Prince George RCMP used five flat deck truckloads and a cargo van to remove the stolen property and as the investigation continues, they’re hoping to find the rightful owners.
