A man suspected of propositioning a young teenage girl at the Quesnel public library has been released on bail with several conditions, Quesnel RCMP said late Tuesday in a press release.
David Raymond Couture is not to be in the Quesnel or Williams Lake areas, to refrain from contact with anyone under age 16 and is to stay away from locations where they may frequent -- including parks, schools, daycares and recreational areas.
Couture was arrested after RCMP were called to the library on Saturday in response to a complaint that an older man struck a conversation with a 14-year-old girl and offered to take her back to his van. The girl told library staff and police were called.
RCMP said Couture drives a grey older-model camper van and described him as 49 years old with brown hair, blue eyes and a medium build. He is required to return to Quesnel for a court appearance on June 8.
