A news conference has been scheduled in Prince George Friday morning for a "major forestry" announcement, expected to be the sale of the Mackenzie Pulp mill to an Asian buyer.
According to a media advisory, B.C. Forests Minister Pat Bell will be in attendance. Also expected to be at the news conference are representatives of the Indonesian-based company, Sinarmas, named earlier as the company in the hunt to buy the shuttered pulp mill, as well as union, First Nations and plant management officials.
Sinarmas was named three months ago as the forerunner in the hunt to purchase the pulp mill, which has been shut down for two years.
