The provincial government needs to boost court resources to prevent another impaired driving charge from being thrown out because it has taken too long to bring the matter to trial, says a Mothers Against Drunk Driving spokeswoman.

"As an organization that represents victims of impaired driving, MADD Canada finds it unacceptable that impaired driving charges are being thrown out because the Courts lack the resources to adequately process them," said MADD's B.C. manager Tracy Crawford in an e-mail.
