The person killed in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday is Marjorie Ankerstein ,of Mackenzie.
The 59-year-old was the lone occupant of a Jeep Cherokee SUV when it struck a commercial tractor-trailer unit on Highway 39 leading to Mackenzie from the John Hart Highway.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.
The driver of the commercial unit was examined and treated at the collision scene and he sustained no injuries in this incident.
An investigation continues by BC Coroners Service, the Commercial Vehicle Safety personnel and the police. A number of investigative avenues are being examined, including an autopsy, mechanical examinations and interviews. The cause of this collision remains under investigation. Weather is not believed to have been a factor.
