The union representing workers at the Endako molybdenum mine has failed to convince the Labour Relations Board (LRB) to impose to extend the time limit on revival of a decertification campaign.
The USW had requested a two-year "time bar" to carry representation into the next round of bargaining after a September 2011 vote to decertify was rejected by a margin of 146 to 121.
But in a decision issued April 13, LRB vice chair Ken Saunders noted a 10 month limit is already in place from the date of the vote and questioned whether the USW's allegations against the employer are enough to warrant an extension.
