The emergence of a lower-than-average snowpack should erase any concerns about flooding this spring but won't help when it comes to wildfires, says environment minister Barry Penner.

According to the latest measurements, the overall level for the Upper Fraser stands at 86 per cent of normal while eastern portions of the Nechako are 80 to 90 per cent.
