Lot near city hall getting facelift

The city started cleaning up its property across from city hall this week in an effort to improve the general look of the area and downtown, said city spokesman Michael Kellett. "We're walking the talk," he said.

The city started cleaning up its property across from city hall this week in an effort to improve the general look of the area and downtown, said city spokesman Michael Kellett.

"We're walking the talk," he said.

City council has taken an increased interest in derelict properties, ordering owners to clean up their act.

The land, which was previously the Delorme Automotive building and was used as a parking lot during the Canada Winter Games, is getting a makeover, including sodding, seeding and irrigation.
