Drivers are being encouraged to avoid Highway 16 at Ferry Avenue where a tractor trailer unit lost a load in the intersection.
"Clean up of the intersection is expected to take hours," RCMP said in a release issued shortly after 2 p.m. "Drivers are asked to avoid the area or risk long waits."
DriveBC, meanwhile, says the right westbound lane has been closed and the estimated time of reopening is 6 p.m.
