It’s never too late to make a plan to honour your mother by spending some time with her this Mother’s Day.

For history-buff mom
Something a little different could be a visit to the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum, 850 River Road, where they’ve spruced up the historic spaces just for mom.
Guests can picnic in the park, ride the minirail that runs every half hour or catch a museum tour that starts every hour. Stroll through the market for the perfect on-the-spot gift for mom. There’s a draw for a door prize and a kids’ colouring contest to enter.

For sporty mom
Consider entering the Mother’s Day 5 km at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park.
The event starts with a free kids 1 km run at 8:45 am, while the rest of the runners start the 5 km at 9 a.m. In person day of registration will close at 8:55 a.m.
This event is presented by the Prince George Road Runners Club that has partnered with the Wheelin’ Warriors of the North as a fundraiser for the BC Cancer Foundation. All proceeds from non-member registration will go to the cause. Volunteers for this race will be members of the Wheelin' Warrior cycling team. For outdoorsy mom
Think about visiting one of the many parks in Prince George for a leisurely walk. Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park has a lovely set of walkways through treed green space. Perhaps a visit to Connaught Hill Park to enjoy the view of Prince George from on high is best suited for mom. The city has a full site to check out potentially perfect places at City Parks and Trails.
For artsy mom
Perhaps a quick trip to an art gallery would do the trick.
The Two Rivers Gallery has a free tour on Mother’s day from 1 to 2 p.m. that offers an in-depth tour of the exhibitions, led by staff and knowledgeable learning and engagement volunteers.
