The Prince George RCMP are continuing to investigate a Tuesday morning collision involving two tractor trailer units near the junctions of Highway 97 and 16.

An initial investigation has found that a logging truck collided with the rear passenger side of a second tractor trailer unit at the southbound traffic light on Highway 97 and then went off the road to the right and rolled onto its side, Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said.

The logging truck driver and lone occupant had to be assisted out of the cab of the truck and was transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC with non-life threatening injuries but was expected to be released later Tuesday.

The driver of the other truck was uninjured.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene just before 8 a.m. and there were delays, particularly for southbound traffic, while the truck and logs were removed.
