A mother and her infant daughter suffered minor injuries after a logging truck forced their car up onto the centre meridian of Highway 97 near Pine Centre Mall on Sunday.

At approximately 12:50 p.m. emergency services were called to Highway 97, where they found a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier high-cent red on the meridian dividing the north and southbound lanes.

The driver, a 34-year-old woman, and her 13-month-old daughter were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An unloaded logging truck was parked along the side of the highway. After speaking with witnesses, police determined that both vehicles were traveling south on Highway 97 when the driver of the logging truck attempted to change lanes and collided with the car, forcing it up onto the meridian.

The truck driver, a 39-year-old Prince George man, was charged for making an unsafe lane change.
