Prince George resident Lorraine Grant has been appointed the chairperson of the Canadian Cancer Society B.C. and Yukon branch.
Grant was appointed the chairperson at the society's annual general meeting this week.
"Too many of my friends and family have been touched by cancer," Grant said in a written statement. "I am very pleased to serve as board chair and look forward to the next two years."
Grant previously served with the society as the northern regional president and director of the board. She has also been involved in the Prince George Relay for Life and the cancer society's annual daffodil campaign.
"Lorraine is a passionate advocate for the north and brings 15 years of healthcare governance experience," society regional CEO Barbara Kaminsky said in a written statement. "Her contribution to the success of our Northern Lodge campaign is just one example of her commitment to the cancer cause and to our organization."
