The driver of a tractor trailer unit died when the truck went off the road on the Trans Canada Highway north of Lytton at about 1:20 on Thursday morning.

It is believed the deceased driver is from Prince George. This will be confirmed by positive identification.

Central Interior Traffic Services, Lytton Detachment and the B.C. Coroners Service continue to investigate the cause of the fatal commercial vehicle collision.

Investigators can confirm that there was only one occupant in the tractor unit and that person was deceased at the scene. Unfortunately due to the fire that was involved, positive identification of the deceased is not possible at this time and will require the aid of dental records.
