Photographer Nancy Zavaglia had a visitor in her College Heights neighbourhood this week, and she happened to have her camera handy.

"We were in the car when moose walked into the driveway," she said. A calf was also along for the stroll with mom. "So all I was doing was stay in car and be quiet. Waited forever. She cleaned that car and mine as well."

She posted the photo on Facebook and it got the attention of Tourism Prince George. Their web staff displayed it to their followers and the image caught a wave of momentum.

Comment contributor Ellie Leith dubbed this a "redneck carwash" on Tourism Prince George's Facebook page. The photo has been a sensation there, generating more than 2,200 shares, 300 likes and 60 comments. That activity alone represents tens of thousands of other people seeing the photo, plus all the spinoff internet action by all those down the cyber-line.

Zavaglia was pleased and surprised by all the attention.

"I'm going to print [a copy of the photo] and donate it to the Tourism PG office," she said. She learned from them that it had set a record for viewers on their Facebook page. "That makes me happy - everyone enjoy seeing a photo of moose car wash. Thanks everyone for enjoying the photo. She's a beauty."
