As Clayton Taylor of Prince George lies in a coma in ICU in Vancouver, friends of the 25-year-old sufferer of a vehicle accident are reaching out to support him.

Taylor is the man who was critically injured Sept. 10 at Moffat Street and Second Avenue when a driver failed to stop as he exited the alley way.

Taylor's close friend Ashlee Painchaud told The Citizen Wednesday that Taylor has been in coma for five days and that doctors are trying to keep the swelling of his brain in check.

"He has a fractured skull and face and needs help breathing due to a collapsed lung," said Painchaud.

"He's my best friend. He was on his way to my birthday party that night.

"Claytonis a very well known and talented skateboarder in Prince George, as a sponsored "Ruins Board Shop" Skater. He's loved by everyone who knows him and looks up to him," Painchaud said.

The group will hold an event they call "Skate for Clay Day" Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Prince George Skatepark.

"We are going to have a barbecue with hot dogs, burgers, pop and hot chocolate and a

donation box for anyone who wants to give support to Clay's family. We will also be selling T-shirts to represent Clayton and profits will go to his recovery. Everyone who skateboards, bikes or

just wants to show support for Clay is welcome," Painchaud said.
