Colin Oliver Wesley, 65, of Prince George has been identified as the man whose body was pulled out of the Fraser River on Sunday.
The exact cause of Wesley's death remains under investigation but foul play is not suspected, B.C. Coroners Service spokeswoman Barbara McLintock said Monday.
"Whether he fell in first or had a medical event and fell in, those sorts of things we're still working on," McLintock said.
And Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said the incident is not related to the Nechako River float, which drew about 100 people on Saturday.
Police took to the river shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday when they received a report of what appeared to be a dead body floating in the river near Fort George Park. Wesley's body was retrieved near Lansdowne Road, about four kilometres downstream.
