The Prince George Public Library has won a marketing award for its television commercials.
Chief Librarian Allan Wilson accepted an advocacy/marketing award presented by the B.C. Library Association at the annual provincial conference.
The commercial that won featured a tough-looking guy reading a copy of Stephenie Meyer's teen novel hit Twilight while getting another tattoo on his arm but this one said Born To Read.
The commercials, created with CKPG, were an effective way to showcase the diversity of library users and change perceptions of our community in a positive way.
The two in the commercial were volunteers, including Theresa Sapergia, a local tattoo artist.
"The commercials were a great hit around the city," said Allan Wilson. "And we're thrilled with the recognition."
This is the second time this library commercial has won an award.
Last year, the same 15-second spot captured a B.C. Association of Broadcasters Award for a small-market commercial.
