During 2009 RCMP received about 2,000 less calls for service from the public in 2009 compared to 2008.
"That said, some of our crime rates have increased," said RCMP Supt. Brenda Butterworth-Carr who attributes the lesser number of calls to more charges being laid to person offences and also to the confidence being built with the public.
