Imagine not having to worry about your house payments, and instead being able to take a vacation.

The Prince George Citizen, Integris Credit Union and Royale Lepage are working together to make that dream a reality for some lucky winners in the area.

The 10-week, Live Free For a Year contest begins today and runs until December 3.

"It's been a wonderful relationship that we've had with Integris Credit Union, and we are proud to be partnering with them again this year," said Lu Verticchio, director of advertising for the Citizen.

"The really neat thing is this is one of the biggest contests of its kind that a newspaper of our size holds. It's a good opportunity to give our readers an opportunity to have their mortages payed off from anywhere from three months to a year and [instead] do some fun stuff with the money they have."

There is more than $30,000 in prizes to be won in the ten weeks with the grand prize being mortage or rent payments covered for three, six or 12 months.

If the contest winner has already paid off their mortage, the winner will receive $750 a month.

Readers can also win mortgage or rent payments along with many weekly prizes that are up for grabs.

"Cut out as many entry forms from The Citizen and go to as many open houses as you can to increase your chances of winning," said Verticchio.

Last year, the contact drew "hundreds of thousands of entries," he said.

Gift certificates in amounts ranging from high definition camcorders courtesy of Visions Electronics and $500 in gas from Mr. G and more prizes furnished by Shoppers Foods, Hart Home Hardware, Mainline Plumbing, Tire Capital, Central Builders and Northern Hardware.

To be entry into the draws for the daily prizes, entry forms will be available at all the Royale Lepage open houses in Prince George.

Every Thursday, the full rules and details of the contest will be in the Classified section.
