Don’t be alarmed if you see smoke coming from the Prince George Airport (YXS) this weekend.

Live fire training will be taking place at the airport on Saturday, May 28 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These fires are training exercises and pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas. These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification.

However, these fires may produce dark smoke in and around the airport area.
