The Little Yellow School Bus pulled into Pine Centre Mall to collect all the donated school supplies.

This year, The Salvation Army was able to serve 113 families and provide 240 children with basic school supplies.

"We continue to help kids and their families each day," said Barbara Croome, community ministries co-ordinator for the Salvation Army.

School supplies will continue to be distributed over the next few weeks.

"We are already near last years' total, of 240 kids, and we expect another 40 or so kids will need assistance," said Croome.

The coins from the fountains in Pine Centre Mall were also collected by volunteers and another $576.71 went towards school supplies.

If families need school supplies, or people want to donate supplies, the Salvation Army is located at 777 Ospika Blvd.
