The Little Prince steam engine makes its way around the tracks at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park.

The Little Prince will be taking to the railroad at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park once more following a three-week hiatus.

Weather permitting, it will be making its first run on Thursday at noon.

It had been sitting idle out of concern its wood-fired boiler could spark a forest fire in the recent tinder-dry conditions.

"The public loves the Little Prince and my engineers are extremely fire conscious," said Exploration Place CEO Tracy Calogheros. "If the conditions change or worsen we will suspend operations again."

The train also does not run when it's raining.

Exploration Place will continue to offer free admission to evacuees but there will be a charge for riding on the train, ranging from $1 to $3.50 depending on age.
