Little bus needs help

Students in need across Prince George hope the community doesn't miss the Little Yellow School Bus before the start of class.

The campaign, which collects donated school supplies, is looking for a last-minute surge on a long list of items. They can be dropped off at the program's signature bright four-wheeled bin at the Pine Centre Mall's Customer Service desk or at the Salvation Army, 777 Ospika Boulevard between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The distribution day for the supplies is Thursday.

"It makes such a difference when a child can go to school with the tools they need to learn and excel," said Colleen Sparrow of the Kiwanis Club of Prince George, which is once again partnering with the Salvation Army and the Pine Centre Mall on the campaign.

Topping the groups' list are: knapsacks, calculators, binders, duotangs, geometry sets, crayons, highliters, markers, colored pencils, scissors, pens, pencils, pencil boxes, exercise books, coiled notebooks, and dividers.

"The Pine Centre Mall is pleased to continue this great initiative for Salvation Army," said Shelley Readman of the Pine Centre Mall. "This partnership is very rewarding and we are appreciative of the regions support."
