The origin of the Little Bobtail Lake fire has been found and it's believed to be human caused.
The police are asking for the public's help during the investigation of the fire that's been burning for more than a week.
Since it was reported on Friday, May 8 the fire has burned more than 25,000 hectares, which is the largest fire incident in the province this year.
There have been evacuations of residents at Norman Lake and Naltesby Lake - Bobtail Lake - and Bednesti Lake and Cluculz Lake residents are on evacuation alert.
RCMP, along with Origin and Cause Investigators from the Wildfire Management Branch of the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations have started the investigation. Currently there are fire bans in place in much of northern BC including the Prince George, Vanderhoof, Fort St. James and Mackenzie Natural Resource Districts.
