Privately-run liquor stores can now open two hours earlier.
To reduce the potential for crowding during the COVID-19 pandemic, they can now be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., the provincial government said Thursday.
"These time-limited measures should provide seniors and immuno-compromised populations the opportunity to buy liquor during early shopping hours already being provided by other retailers, such as grocery stores," officials said in a statement.
Delivery services will also be allowed to purchase products on behalf of a customer from a liquor store and deliver the items during these same hours.
The changes will remain in effect until July 15.
