Two men were arrested following the robbery of a local liquor store Thursday night.

At 11 p.m. on April 19, Prince George RCMP responded to the liquor store on the 100 block of South Tabor Boulevard. They determined that two males threatened the clerk with violence and made off with a bottle of whiskey.

This was the duo's second trip to store that evening, investigators learned. An hour previously, they had shoplifted a bottle of vodka, but no contact was made with the employee and no report was made to police.

A search of the area by patrols and a police service dog did not turn up anything.

Around 12:30 a.m., RCMP were called to a disturbance complaint in the 100 block of Boyd Street - approximately one block from the affected liquor store. Once on scene, officers located two men that fit the description of the theft and robbery suspects. Video surveillance from the liquor store and further evidence gathered at the residence assisted officers in identifying the suspects.

A 23-year-old man from Prince George and a 21-year-old man from Keremeos were arrested for robbery and theft. The Keremeos resident was also arrested on a warrant for failing to comply with a probation order stemming from a 2010 investigation in Fort St. James. He has been remanded in custody while the Prince George man was released for court on a future date.

Anyone with information about this, or any other, offence is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca, or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES using keyword "pgtips".
