Someone else's junk may end up being your treasure at Junk in the Trunk.
On Sept. 29, one of Prince George's largest garage sales will take over the CN Centre main parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The vendor space for the event is already sold out with a total of 125 vendors.
"This is the perfect opportunity to find new treasures," says Rachael Ryder, a waste diversion program leader at the regional district, in a press release. "Somebody else’s unwanted stuff may be exactly what you are looking for. As they say, 'One person’s trash is another’s treasure.'"
There is a new component added this year. Any clean and empty appliances can be dropped off to be recycled at no charge. Lead acid batteries and passenger, light truck tires will also be collected.
“The idea behind this new roundup is to give people the opportunity to do the right thing and properly recycle these items at no cost to them,” Ryder says. “Used major appliances, lead acid batteries and tires require special recovery or recycling processes and should not end up in the regular landfill.”
The CN Centre is at #100-2187 Ospika Blvd.
