Actors from one of today's hottest television shows are making their way to Prince George to fulfill every vampire lovers' Halloween fantasy.

True Blood characters Pam and Hoyt will be at a Halloween fundraiser for the Prince George Library, aptly entitled Hot Blooded Ball, at the Ramada Hotel Oct. 28.

Library board members have some serious connections in the entertainment world and have arranged the appearance of Jim Parrack and Kristin Bauer, actors on the popular HBO television series, True Blood, based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris called The Southern Vampire Mysteries.

The Ramada ballroom will be transformed into Fangtasia, the gritty vampire bar in Shreveport, Louisiana, a familiar setting to True Blood fans.

Guests at the gala will be led into temptation by sumptuous appetizers while indulging in vampire-inspired drinks at the cash bar.

Local DJs will be offering up the latest dance hits to set the scene to party with stars of one of the sexiest shows on television.

Not only will Bauer (also known for her role in Seinfeld as Jerry's man-handed girlfriend) and Parrack pick best costumes at the fundraiser but will sign autographs and pose for photos with fans.

"We have many more outrageous treats planned with our special guests to make the night something special that Prince George has never seen before," said library board chair Philip Mantler.

The Hot Blooded Ball is about more than throwing a great, unique bash, said chief librarian Allan Wilson.

"We're proud of our children's programs but the library isn't just for kids," he said. "Type in the word sex into our catalogue search bar, for example, and you'll get nearly 1,000 hits. Whatever an adult mind wants to explore, we can get you started at the Prince George Public Library."

A portion of the $80 ticket for Hot Blooded Ball will be a tax-deductible donation to the library's adult floor renovation project.

"This is an adult event to benefit a major renovation project planned for the adult floor at the Bob Harkins branch," said Mantler.

The Skylab project will create 1,000 square feet of new space, allowing for more Internet access, more computer stations, a new computer instruction lab, a new information desk and new shelving, Mantler added.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Bob Harkins and Nechako branches of the library. Tickets can also be purchased with a credit card online at the library's brand-new website at www.lib.pg.bc.ca through PayPal or by calling 250-563-9251 or 250-962-9710 or by by emailing [email protected].
