Since 1985, the Prince George Public Library has recognized those who have made a great contribution to the field of local history by awarding the Jeanne Clarke Awards.

The call for nominations is out and deadline is Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.

The major awards are in the service or publication categories and are named after Jeanne Clarke, a former library board member who served from 1978 to 1984. Clarke was also a founding member of the Prince George Library Local History Committee and played an important role in helping to establish the library's local history collection.

For more information about the awards, visit www.pgpl.ca or contact Darcie Smith, outreach librarian, at 250-563-9251 ext. 123.

Nominations must identify the nominee, the category they are being nominated for, and offer detailed information about why their service or publication deserves to receive the Jeanne Clarke Award.

Awards will be presented at the 2017 Jeanne Clarke Awards on Sunday, February 19th, 2017.
