The Prince George Legion Branch 43 is partnering with Share Hope Refugee Sponsorship Committee – PG to organize a special fundraising dinner in support of their work sponsoring and settling refugee families escaping war torn Ukraine.

The Share Hope Committee has been active in Prince George for almost nine years.

In the past, the committee has helped settle refugee families in Prince George from countries such as Syria. Now they are turning their focus to families escaping the escalating situation in the Ukraine.

“When we were approached by the Share Hope Committee about hosting a fundraiser, it was a unanimous yes from our board,” John Scott, second vice-president, said. “Anything we can do at the local level to assist Ukrainian families caught in this horrible conflict we will support.”

The dinner will be held at the Legion Branch on Sunday, April 3. All proceeds will be donated to the Share Hope Committee.

Tickets are $50 each with only 80 spots available. Guests will enjoy a traditional Ukrainian dinner of perogies, cabbage rolls, sausage, dessert and all the sides.

There is a silent auction to raise further funds.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Legion or by calling 250-562-1292.
