Special Speakers Day during the training session for literacy tutors in the region will feature four workshops to which the public is invited to sit in on.

Workshops on May 13 will be held at School District 57's Resource Centre on Gladstone Avenue in College Heights.

**9 a.m.-- Kim Dixon with BC Schizophrenia Society will offer Mental health barriers to learning.

**10:45 a.m. Donna Jarvis & Joan Jamieson with Learning Difficulties Centre will present Orton Gillingham multisensory teaching method.

**12:30 p.m. Samantha Moise, essential skills manager, will introduce the Towes Workplace essential skills testing and training tool.

**2 p.m. Gwen Juds of Vantage Vision and Reading will present: Visual barriers to learning; new vision tests and associated corrective exercises.

Participants are asked to call Helen Domshy at 250-564-4288 to book seats and ensure enough lunch is available.
