A lawsuit against the Nechako Valley Exhibition and the owner of n allegedly runaway horse has been dropped.

Susan Barrio agreed to a consent order Sept. 20 dismissing the proceedings without a hearing and cost to any party.

She had filed the action in May 2016 over injuries suffered during the NVE in August 2015. She had alleged Serine Merino lost control of her horse and it hit a bleacher, knocking Barrio off the structure and making her fall about five feet.

She was knocked unconscious and given a serious concussion, according to her statement of claim.

In responses, both the NVE and Merino denied responsibility for the injuries.
