Law Enforcement Torch Run raises funds to support local athletes at Summer Games

Prince George will host the 2025 Special Olympics B.C. Summer Games July 10-13 next year

The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run was held Thursday, with the 3.5-kilometre run starting and ending at the downtown RCMP detachment.

Special Olympics athletes joined RCMP, corrections and sheriff members to take part in the run to raise funds for Special Olympics B.C., which will be holding the 2025 Special Olympics B.C. Summer Games in Prince George July 10-13 next year, with more than 1,100 athletes participating.

Safety Bear was in attendance to entertain runners and passersby, as well as acting as the unofficial finish-line greeter for the event.

The event also included a by-donation barbecue behind the detachment on Fifth Avenue and music by DJ Ant.
