Former Prince George Fire Rescue chief John Lane is about to take over the top job Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
Lane will become the WPFS chief on April 14, according to media reports in that city.
Lane left Prince George in August 2013 after roughly eight years, slightly more than two of them as the PGFR chief.
Prior to coming to Prince George, he was an EMS district chief with the Toronto Fire Services.
He takes over in Winnipeg from Reid Douglas who was let go in September 2013, a month before an audit was released that found mismanagement, favouritism and a lack of adequate oversight on the building of four new stations which went over-budget.
Longtime Prince George firefighter John Iverson took over as PGFR chief in January.
