Highway 16 is down to single-lane alternating just west of Cluculz Lake due to a landslide, according to DriveBC.

An 800-metre stretch between East Bay Road and Lloyd Drive is affected. The slide, which  undercut a section of the highway, occurred on Wednesday at about 4 p.m. and was caused by  water flowing from the adjacent bank and pooling under the highway.

"Ministry geotechnical engineers and operations staff, as well as maintenance crews, are on site and working to stabilize and repair the site," the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said. "The water has been redirected and work is underway on repairs, which includes shifting traffic over to safely access the undercut location."

When the stretch will be returned to two lanes was not yet known as of Thursday afternoon.
