Federal, provincial and territorial labour ministers will converge on Prince George on Friday.
They will be holding their annual meeting to "shareinformation, experiences and ideas about Canada's challenges and opportunities in the areas of labour policy, employment standards
and occupational health and safety," according to a statement from the provincial government.
"Participants also explore ways to ensure employers and workers across Canada continue to prosper and have productive and fair workplaces."
B.C. Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training Minister Shirley Bond and federal Employment, Workforce
Development and Labour Minister MaryAnn Mihychuk will co-host the meeting.
"It's great that Prince George is the location for the 2016 federal,provincial and territorial ministers of labour meeting. Prince George is a vibrant, active and diverse community, and I am proud to
host my colleagues in northern B.C.," Bond said in the statement, issued Wednesday.
Details on exactly where in Prince George the meeting will be held are being worked out.
