The congregation of the Knox United Church will have a little something extra to celebrate this Sunday -- they've been awarded this year's heritage places award for their efforts to maintain and preserve the building.

The congregation of the Knox United Church will have a little something extra to celebrate this Sunday -- they've been awarded this year's heritage places award for their efforts to maintain and preserve the building.

First built in 1922, the recognizable landmark at Fifth and Brunswick downtown is the oldest church structure in the city and remains a hive of activity -- from church services to addictions counseling to tai chi and dance classes.
