Three organizations will be hosting a workshop in Prince George next Friday on citizens' rights when dealing with police.
Topics to be covered include a citizen's rights when arrested and detained or stopped by police on the street and asked questions, when the police are allowed to search a person and how to file a complaint against a police officer.
Representatives of the Independent Investigations Office of B.C., the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP and the B.C. Civil Liberties Association will be on hand.
They will also provide information on their mandates and responsibilities and how they deliver their services.
It's set for the Fire Pit drop-in centre at 1120 Third Ave., 2-4 p.m.
A version for service providers will also be held earlier the same day at the Prince George Native Friendship Centre, in the Circle of Unity Room, 1600-Third Ave., 9 a.m.-noon.
Participants in the morning workshop must register with the BCCLA by calling 1-866-731-7507.
