A federal inmate was sentenced to six years in prison Tuesday for staging an armed robbery last month while he was at large on a Canada-wide warrant.

Rodney Abraham, 34, was issued the term in Prince George provincial court for holding up the Spruce Credit Union on Victoria Street at knifepoint on June 14, a day after he escaped from his escort.

Abraham, who was also sentenced to two years for being unlawfully at large, was apprehended three days after the robbery near the corner of Strathcona Avenue and Pine Street.
