Kids' Halloween party at Connaught Youth Centre

A family Halloween party is being offered at the Connaught Youth Centre for kids 12 years old and under.

A family Halloween party is being offered at the Connaught Youth Centre for kids 12 years old and under. Primary organizer Amanda Prince is asking for public help to make it a fun time for everyone, especially since the weather is a problem for some families of younger children.

Prince is the co-ordinator for Hadih House delivering programs and activities for aboriginal and inner city kids, so she has experience arranging recreational events, but this was inspired by her own children.

"I'm doing this as a mother wanting kids to go to a fun event on Halloween, not through my employment," she said. "[It is] for kids aged two to 12 but we will have a baby area for moms and tots to sit down."

It is no charge, requiring Prince to call on help from the town for things like prizes for the children who come (stuffies, small toys, DVDs, etc. are suggested), treats like Halloween candy and also decorations to add to the effect.

It runs 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Connaught Youth Centre at the corner of 17th Avenue and Victoria Street. All kids must have an adult with them to attend.

For any information, contact Prince at 250-563-7976 or email [email protected].
