Jokes R On Us, but they might be on you too when you check out the Elder Citizens Recreation Association drama club's comedic fall show Nov. 1 to 3.

The show is made up of a variety of short skits to tickle the funny bone and there are about 20 members of the club who put it all together.

Hilarity not only ensues on stage but also backstage where the too-cramped quarters of the dressing rooms offer up some candid moments as actors struggle to switch from costume to costume with their microphones still on. As the grumbling begins off stage, so does the laughter at the front of the house as the audience hears all the backstage antics.

"It's all part of the fun," said Odelia Kranz, longtime member of the drama club, the gospel choir and the Forever Young chorus, as well as volunteer extraordinaire for the cookie dough fundraiser.

"During the show we've got a lot of monkey business coming up, we've got a trip to the jewelry store, we've got a blind cowboy, Sears catalogue orders and the Grand Ole Opry is coming back to town and there's even something about a specimen, beer drinkers and a radio show. I also hear that Prince George might be making an appearance."

There are a few newcomers to the club as well as a returnee, said Kranz.

"We've got Rose Dorish coming back after a two-year absence and we're looking forward to that," said Kranz. "We're always looking for more

members and everyone is welcome to join because it's really the most fun club. There's always a lot of laughs."

Members take care of their own costumes, or they can go into the tickle trunk at the centre to take advantage of the collection of items there for all to use.

"It's been great this year," said Kranz, when it comes to brainstorming and teamwork. "It's a really great group to work with. There's always lots of laughter."

Tickets for the ECRA Drama Club's presentation of Jokes R On Us are $10 for adults, and children under 12 are $5.
