Joey Only and his Outlaw Band have been added to the 3 Doors Down concert event in Prince George, and he has a long list of other northern B.C. dates on his own.
"Whoaa, check out this sudden crazy burst of shows on my schedule," he said via his blog. "I'll be in Prince George twice, Fort St. James, Dawson Creek, Rolla, Sweetwater 905 Festival, Wells and Fort St. John the next few weeks."
The first appointment on that long list is Thursday night when he joins the group High Society at Art Space in P.G. He called them "a gaggle of great musicians who I have much personal respect and affection for."
Following that, he is off to Fort St. James where he will be part of the Arts In the Park event at Cottonwood Park on Saturday, put on by the Music On The Mountain Society.
"My next gig is a real gooder. I'll be opening for 3 Doors Down at the CN Centre in Prince George," he said. "Last time I heard, it's a 5,000 seat hockey arena and I guess this band was pretty cool at one time and a lot of people are going. So I'm pretty stoked, it's always nice to be part of a professional show and meet some road warriors. That's June 4."
He then will spend some time up in Peace-country doing his acoustic alterna-country-folk shows before turning south again for more time in these parts.
"Lastly, we're hosting King Crow and the Ladies From Hell at the Wells Hotel on June 21," he said. "They are a smoking celticky-punky-high energy sorta band, and the brand new incarnation of the Joey Only Outlaw Band will be opening for them there. What a busy few weeks, I live for this."
Only has put down roots in Wells. From there he puts forth one of the most aggressive national touring schedules any northern music resident can boast. From the town built on a rich base of claims, his is that he has played in every province in Canada, almost every year, since 2004 and also managed to squeeze in some time in the territories.
