JobFest, a touring exhibition meant to help young people decide what career to pursue with a dose of rock music thrown in, will be in Prince George today.

Set for the Civic Centre, the event from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. is designed to get youth and young adults excited about their futures, while teaching them about the various tools and resources available to support them in finding the right job.

Plus Acres of Lions, a four-piece alternative rock band from Victoria, will be performing.

"It's a big show, the whole day," said t Bell.

Those who attended will start with an aptitude test to help them decide what careers might suit them best, then get a glance at what those jobs are like on a day-to-day basis and how well they pay, then the education and qualifications needed to land those jobs and finally, get an idea where those jobs exists and are predicted to open up in the coming years.

The idea is to remove the guesswork and time it can take to hit the right career path.

"Young people often struggle and search to find the job that's right for them," local MLA and Jobs Minister Pat Bell said. "People try two, three, four types of careers before they landed on one they seem to enjoy. With today's technology, it is something we can do far more efficiently - I kind of think of it as eHarmony for jobs."
